How to choose the right backpack for different outdoor sports

How much capacity is most appropriate:

The most suitable capacity for a small backpack is 30 liters, which is large enough to put down ten essential items and extra things for personal climbing. Small backpacks can be as small as 10 liters or as large as 40 to 50 liters. If you often serve as a team leader or help a teammate (or child), you may need a 40-liter or larger backpack. In most cases, a backpack capacity of 30 liters is a standard capacity and the most popular option. But if you're active from summer hiking to winter skiing, you may need more than one small backpack. Consider your needs to decide on your choice of small backpack. Small backpacks suitable for all types of activities:

1. One-day hiking (Dayhiking):

Usually a capacity of 30 liters is most suitable.

Side pockets (usually a flexible mesh bag that can be placed flat on a backpack when not in use)

The compartment (sandwich or pocket) is convenient for storing small equipment.

There is a water bag sandwich and a straw opening.

2. For climbing (Scrambling/climbing):

Choose a narrower backpack, and you usually climb to higher altitudes, and the temperature is lower, so you need a 40-liter backpack to carry extra warm clothing.

The attempted heart of your climb will determine the size of your backpack. Consider the amount of equipment you carry and the backpack with an ice axe ring and a daisy chain. In addition, backpacks with compression straps and chest straps help to maintain stability.

Finally, ask your climbing partner, a backpack with any characteristics, which is most helpful to them.

3. Skitouring:

A backpack with a narrow back and a high stability will be a plus. The extent of your trip (how much extra clothes you carry) will determine the size of your backpack. The backpack is preferably designed with a hanging point that can accommodate snow shovel and poles. In addition, chest straps and belts are also important considerations. The above two and three have mentioned the purchase of a narrower backpack, why? Because the narrower backpack will not hinder your activities, and it is not easy to hook things.

4, wild running / adventure racing (Trailrunning / adventureracing):

Waist packs, water bottle backpacks or small-capacity technical backpacks (25 liters or less) are good choices. The waist pack does not move as the user moves, and the back can be kept ventilated and perspiration.

5, overnight trip (Overnighter):

If you have a minimum of mindsets (lightweight sleeping bags, sleeping bags, etc.), a technical backpack can handle ultra-lightweight overnight needs. In general, there are only a handful of people who can do it, so the recent lightweight trend tends to use ultra-lightweight medium-sized backpacks.

You can find a backpack with a backboard and a belt, and some with one or two aluminum strips in the system that can carry a higher weight. But even if it's just an overnight trip, the desire for a comfortable life in the wild will make your backpack bigger and bigger.

6. School/Commuting/Traveling:

Find a backpack with at least two or more compartments, including a mezzanine that can hold magazines or laptops, as well as space for electronics and gadgets. It's best to have a back panel to prevent the top of the book from reaching your back.

Summary: With the above analysis, consider your budget, needs and uses, I believe you can find a backpack for you.
